Wifi Mesh Solution
Telephone engineer Norwich can supply a Wifi mesh solution.
The Wifi mesh solution is perfect for the everyday household as well as 4 storey houses, larger 5-6 bedroom houses as well as smaller businesses. The system is quick and easy to install, the system is controlled by a mobile app where you can check your system status and customise the system to the customers specification. The system connects wirelessly to each other creating a spider web effect, which means that each unit has the best possible internet connection. Additional WiFi units can be added to increase the coverage area and awkward property layouts. In addition, each unit has an ethernet outlet to provide a direct connection to Sky Q boxes, smart TV’s etc. A Wifi mesh system is a cost effective reliable Wifi solution.
The WiFi systems come in two options a small kit for the average home and the larger kit for larger properties. Included in the price is a three unit set which can be installed by our Wifi experts or you can install the system yourself. The benefit of a Wifi mesh system is that the Wifi units don’t need to be hard wired. Which means there is no need for any unsightly wiring running around your property.

Wireless Bridge Link
It is increasingly common to require internet access to remote locations, farm buildings, the home office/studio or games room.
Telephone engineer Norwich have a lot of experience in providing this link. The simplest and very often the best value option is wireless, requiring a wireless point to point device at each location, which can be several hundred metres apart, or as much as 5 Kms. Multiple links are possible and no significant loss of data transfer rates and complete security. Wireless links do require line of sight from point to point, our engineers will provide a full site survey and advice on the best solution.

Before you book
What to plan before you book
Good WiFi starts with knowing the building and how it is used.
Where you need a signal
Walk the property and note where the WiFi drops: upstairs rooms, the far end of a long house, the garden, a workshop or a holiday let across the yard. The design starts from where people actually use their devices.
How many people and devices
A family streaming on several screens, a hotel full of guests and an office of laptops and phones all need different designs. Plan for the busiest time of day, not the quiet one.
What the walls are made of
Thick stone or flint walls, foil-backed insulation, underfloor heating and metal racking all block WiFi. Old cottages and converted barns usually need more access points than their size suggests.
Separate networks for guests
Decide who should be on which network. A separate guest network keeps visitors off the devices and files a home or business relies on.
Line of sight for wireless links
A link between two buildings needs a clear view from one end to the other. Trees, hedges and other buildings in the way can mean a taller mounting point or a different route.
Worth knowing
Good to know
Extenders repeat a weak signal
Plug-in extenders and Powerline adapters can help, but a repeated weak signal stays weak, and Powerline depends on the home’s electrical wiring. Cabled access points or a mesh system give steadier coverage.
Power over the network cable
Business access points are powered through their network cable from a POE switch, so they can go on a ceiling or high on a wall with no socket nearby.
WiFi cannot beat your broadband
Good WiFi carries your broadband to every room, but it cannot make the incoming connection faster. If the broadband itself is slow, 4G broadband or a leased line may be the answer.
Keep the equipment up to date
Routers and access points that no longer receive updates are a common security weak point. A managed network can be updated remotely.

FAQ
WiFi solutions: questions customers ask
Is the WiFi survey really free?
Yes. We offer a free onsite, no obligation, survey to get a thorough plan of your property or business before recommending anything.
Should I choose a mesh system or wireless access points?
A mesh system suits most homes and smaller businesses and needs no wiring between the units. Cabled Ubiquiti access points are the proper solution for offices, factories, hotels, care homes and larger properties.
Can I install the mesh system myself?
Yes. The three unit set can be installed by our Wifi experts or you can install the system yourself.
Can you get the internet to a building across the yard or a field?
Usually, yes. A wireless point to point link can carry the internet several hundred metres, or as much as 5 Kms, as long as there is line of sight from one end to the other.
Why do my Powerline extenders keep dropping out?
Powerline extenders send the signal through your electrical wiring, so they can prove to be un-reliable. Access points or a mesh system give a reliable, consistent and secure connection.
Can you look after the network once it is installed?
Yes. We offer fully managed Wifi networks using a Ubiquiti cloud key, so updates and problems can be handled remotely.
